Treat Your Sinus Infection with ACV
Most people who are interested in natural health are aware that apple cider vinegar helps improve many health conditions. One use for ACV is to clear up sinus infections, also called sinusitis. The signs of a sinus infection include the following:
One of the most unpleasant signs of a sinus infection is pain. You have sinus cavities above and below your eyes, as well as behind your nose. Pain can occur in one or all of these. Inflammation and swelling in the sinuses creates pressure pain. That pain can be felt in your forehead, either side of your nose, between your eyes, or in the upper jaws and teeth.
A sinus infection often creates an unpleasant greenish-yellow discharge, which drains from your infected sinuses into the nasal passages or down your throat as a postnasal drip.
A sinus infection can cause swelling of the sinuses and nasal passages. You may find it hard to breathe, and you may have a lessened sense of smell and taste.
The tremendous pressure and swelling in infected sinuses can result in a massive headache. The pain may also extend to earaches, toothaches, and painful jaws and cheeks. Headaches may be worst in the morning, after fluids have collected in the sinuses overnight.
Drainage from sinuses can create irritation and a persistent cough. This cough can be most bothersome at night, interfering with sleep.
Postnasal drip can also create a very sore throat.
The root cause of a sinus infection may be a virus, but the infection often continues even after other respiratory symptoms have resolved. Medication can help mask the symptoms, but apple cider vinegar is a safer and more natural approach to treating sinusitis. ACV is rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber, and full of antioxidants. It helps rid the body of the toxins that make you sick. Always use the raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized organic apple cider vinegar with “the mother.”
Here is the recipe for the mixture to use to treat sinus infection and strengthen your immune system:
1/2 cup of water
1/4 cup unfiltered apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon of raw honey
1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
juice from 1 lemon wedge
Bring water to a boil.
Mix the hot water and apple cider vinegar in a glass.
Add honey and cayenne pepper and stir.
Add lemon juice.
Drink the mix regularly until your sinus infection is gone.
